I'm faced with the same problem. In addition to rust in the water and partially plugged ports. the previous owner used non dergent oil. I'm currently dismantling the engine and plan to boil it to remove the rust and grease. Sounds like a lot of work but I want to be sure I have a good engine when I'm done.
