Terry, Checked casting marks on mine this morning, both are 354898 blocks. 1st was cast 4-25-X ('52) and is still R1 (Rev level 1). 2nd was cast 4-13-Z ('54) and is R2. No 'Special' or 'Sample' on either block. Just casting number, Firing Order 1-3-4-2; then below all that, 'L' and the date code. I also see 2 raised squares, and on the R2 block, an extra set of 4 screw heads at the lower right corner. Stan(VA).
