Terry: Could be one of two problems. The bottom end of your shift lever needs rebuilding. Just build it up with weld, then grind it so it nicely fits notch in each shifting rail. When these get worn to an oval shape they can slip by without removing from one gear, then you put it in the next one. The second problem could be springs and detent balls on the shift rails. I've had to replace a few of these. They hold the rail and keep out of a gear as well as in a gear. I bought these from CaseIH just last year.
