The choke rod runs from the carb. through the air cleaner (the holes near where it bolts to the block) and has a clip that bolts to the underside of the gas tank. It is basically a piece of No. 9 wire with a right angle with pin hole on one end (carb end) and the other end is a loop. I don't know the actual length, but it reaches the battery box, I think about in the middle. Good luck
