Steve: I'm thinking that figure would be quite different on tractors. Those tractors were indeed part of the war effort, and everything possible was done to keep them running and producing food.

The other factor would be rust, of which many a car and truck met their demise as a result of that. Not very many tractors fell victim to rust.
