Aces, When we bought the tractor it had a 1750# pressure relief valve in it. The tractor would lift the main mower (3"x8" 2-way)cylinder but not the wings (2"x8" single acting). Our CIH service manager recomended putting the 2500# p.r.v.. After that we didn't have any problems until the key sheared. CIH dealer replaced the key & o-ring and things worked fine unti Friday when all of a sudden it got to where the tractor had to be at full rpms to lift the mower. Yesterday we checked the psi at the remotes and it was 300# at an idle and 2500# at 2,400 rpms. We then put back in the old pr valve & readings were still 300# at an idle & 1800 # at 2,400 rpm. Today we took the top link plate off of the back of the tractor & check to see if there were any unusual leaks. I will admit I am not very mechanically inclined when it comes to the internal workings of a tractor. I did find what I felt were suspicious oil flows. One was coming from above the ring gear along with one running down the right side of the housing straight across from it. Another was a dripping down on the draft control linkage (?)at the right rear of the housing. These leaks (if in fact that is what they are) increased with engine rpms. A final stream about the size of a thick pencil lead was between the end of the 3pt lift cylinder & the rear of the housing. This stream of oil didnot increase with rpms. I did see a return tube to the left side of the housing in front of the ring gear & what appeared to be another (poor mirror) towards the rear, also appearing to be on the left side. Sorry to be so vague on the descriptions.
