I have been rebuilding a 340 tractor and have hit a snag with the dreaded steering box. Apparently the bushings are no longer available, so the shop needs to make everything for major $$$. I can get a non-running 2424 tractor with hydraulic power steering, i.e. no box. Does anyone know if this front end can be swapped over? Also how do these tractors compare, should I pursue starting over and putting all of my parts onto the 2424? The 2424 has diff lock and four speeds, the 340 has no diff lock and 5 speed trans. How much stuff will interchange, please help!!!
