A 301 would have tested out at 75 to 80 hp,you probably have the right engine for it. Look at the right front corner of the block ,just below the front exhaust port,theres a raised boss with stuff stamped there. If it is a combime engine,it wont have the cubic inches,all it will have is the combine number, my 560 has 403C stamped there, I have a 403 combine engine in it 263 ci. A combine engine has more balls than the tractor engine,at least mine did. The combine engine does not have sleeves and probably has dome top pistons,mine did. My 560 has tons more power than it did with the original diesel engine.
