Feeler gage needs to slide in and out - just touching both the rocker arm and valve stem. This is done by feel - not to loose - not to tight. Re-torque. It's going to vary. Some nuts may be tight, some may be 5 or so lbs loose. There isn't a standard answer. You just need to re-torque the head bolts.
