Hi had a B414D from 1962 till about 1973 and it was a good tractor but glow plugs had to work before it would start in even 90F weather. The glow plugs were only required for the first start of the day. Required a block heater for winter starting. Had about 10,000 hrs on it when we traded it for 454D. PTO seal also leaked a little. Also had a 1501 loader on a 434D which is newer version of B414D. Was a great loader. There should be plenty of parts in Canada as these were one of the most popular 40HP Diesels in Canada. Same as 434,444,384 and some industrial versions. One weakness was brakes required yearly cleaning of roller balls. In 1962 we paid about $3000 CDN for a new B414D and the loader was about $1000 CDN with hydraulic bucket. If you plan to use a tractor in the winter, the newer Kubotas start better than any brand. Neighbor has IH and Kubota and he cliams Kubota starts even at -20F without being plugged in or ether. Good luck JB2

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”.
