The shifting mechanism is a real treat! Make sure you drive the machine in all gears, up and down a hill if possible. We used a 706 gasser with the 263 engine to bale this year. Worked fine, and it wasn't that hard on gas. Didn't use much more gas the the 450's we used to bale with, probably because it didn't have to run as hard to do the same job. Not as efficient as a diesel, but it only cost half the price of a diesel too. Steers and stops very, very well, and it easy to handle for a bigger tractor. You can't really go wrong for $2500.
