On your possible fuel problem, this is pretty common with these tractors, often the root cause is a rusted gas tank. Things to check: gas cap vent plugged (resulting in pulling a vacuum on the tank), partially plugged filter at inlet to carb (at the end of the fuel line where it connects to the carb - this is the real choke point of the fuel system and many people don't realize it's there), crud in the bottom of the tank (empty the tank, pull the strainer off the bottom, and see what you've got). Some people end up lining the tank, but thus far I've been able to avoid it. Your carb probably has a drain plug which you can use to test the fuel supply - if you get a good sustained, pencil-sized flow you should be OK. On the coil, some people use a "ballast resistor" with a 6-volt coil in a 12-volt conversion, but my preference is a new 12-volt coil (more readily available at this time, anyway) which avoids the Mickey Mouse wiring that the ballast resistor requires. Another possible cause of your stalling problem is a defective coil, so this would be part of a shotgun approach to solving that problem as well. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a
