Do any future jobs as Crusader says by hanging the clutch/pressure plate on the trans spline shaft then bring the two units together. Bolt up the pressure plate from underneath after the units are together. This way the only alignment you are looking for is the trans shaft to the flywheel pilot. I've done em both ways and this is by far the easiest and the only way I would do a dual spline shaft (live pto) unit.
