If you have coolant in the cylinders, it is most likely coming in through a bad head gasket. Since that is a wet-sleeve engine, a cracked block will usually only leak on the outside.

As far as repairing it goes, I've heard that they can be welded, but good luck finding someone who will work on it. Nobody seems to want to touch old stuff anymore. Your best best to fix it properly would be to find a block that isn't cracked and rebuild it.
