Several months ago I posted for "RAY" who is my dad about compression on a Farmall MD. To make long story short the beast is running. Come to find out after the head was off and the pistons out we had some very stuck rings and the need for a valve job. The engine had been apart years ago from the presents of a set of 4 inch M-W pitons. Have you ever tried to put original 3 7/8 rings on 4 inch piston. I have posted a picture of one of the pistons next to a piston from an AC WC, another work in progress. Its on the Parts and Pieces page. You got to see this. Any way its all back together and after another learning process with magnetos the Bad Boy finally started up. In the picture I've posted on "Farmall Pics" the tractor is running and we are trying to bleed the air out of the injection system. I'm thinking that this is going to be another "learning" process. We have a manual that tells you how to this but, does anyone have a "best practice" or "this is how it works best for me" way. This summer has been both fun and not so fun working on this tractor with my dad and brother. A lot of our problems have been solved by the "ARCHIVE" page. There is a tremendous amount of information on this web site. So THANKS to everyone who has answered a question about an MD or for that matter any antique tractor. So much for a short story but I sure I could have made it much longer Thanks B.King

It was on one such Saturday in the early 1940's when Sam was 16 years old that he ended up in Dennison, Kansas to watch a demonstration of a new tractor being put on by a local dealer. It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership,
