Super A clutch and transmisson

Hello mechanics friends! I just bought a Farmall Super A 1950 last week and get it transported to my little land where I plan to use it to help me carry lumbers. It’s my fist time close to this kind of machine. I’ve learnt mechanic on, mostly under, a Volkswagen Bus that I own for 10 years. Got the tools, got some general knowledge, no garage and winter is coming to my county first! To most urgent problem is that the transmission is very hard to get in speed. It looks like it never stops. Passing the speed is a crunchy bad moment but after that, the red tractor will ride ok. The fluid got drained and changed. I’ve tighten the clutch rod as far as possible to reduce travel on the pedal. But the transaxle still keeps running even with the food to the bottom of the pedal travel. According to your experience, Is there any other test to be done? Do I need to split the tractor to look at the clutch now? I suspect a wrong clutch size (too big)? Luc Perron
