I just had the same problem with my "H" 6 volt. I kept trying to crank it over while having my hand on one battery cable or the other...sure enough the negative cable got hottern' a pistol. Replaced neg battery cable and I'm back in business.

As I grew older (7), it was the thrill of my day to ride or drive on the tractor. My Papaw had a 1954 IH Super A that he bought to replace a Cub.
