Jared the 656 is the same as the ones described above. Most 656's after several thousands of hours of operation. the linkage wears so sometimes it doesn't shift out of the gear you are in even though the lever is in neutral.Make sure when you shift you follow the shift pattern closely, I mean pull straight back from fourth to nuetral them move to your next gear then straight in. If it is stuck in 4th see if you can get the shifter to go back in 4th, don't force hard. if it goes it will save a battery removal and some skinned knuckles. Mine is the same way for the last 10 years.
