Get a can of starting fluid, hit the starter and just squirt the fluid at the air cleaner. If you have good vacuum, you'll see and hear the mist being sucked in. If not, I'd disconnect the air intake at the carbureator and squirt a couple of more shots of starter fluid in there while cranking. Be careful to not overdo the starter fluid thing, but my H will always fire on the fluid if I have spark and compression. You can check compression quickly by pulling a plug and holding a finger tightly over the hole. When you try to start it, the compression should blow your finger away from the hole. Good idea to keep the magneto grounded while doing this check. Many times it is helpful to have an extra pair of hands or feet to hit the starter for you.
