I use to think the same thing until I looked at an IT manual. All of the planetary stuff is external to the main rear housing. I thought the main housing looked the same as the 14 so I looked it up on the parts CD and the part numbers of the main rear housing are the same between the 14 and the 15. The clutch housing is also the same part number. Still not sure if it would work though and even if it did I'm not sure what types of speeds you would end up with.
