Used the rear of a vegetable cultivator many times. What's the difference in that and using a 8N, etc cultivator which does not have a front section? -- except that it works better than the 8N. Ours had a double tool bar. We didn't use it for close cultivation, that's what the front is for. Can't say that I have ever used the front section alone, as you need to run something in the rear wheel tracks. In fact with the front section mounted, that's the main reason we used the rear section sometimes. We have even used the rear section as sort of a crude field cultivator, or spring tooth.
