If the tractor has been running on gas well then you should be able to continue to do so. The lead served as a lubricant for the valves etc, I would assume that if there was any damage done by using straight gas it"s been done already. When I had my head re-done a year ago, the machine shop put in new valve seats which made it compatible with the lead free gas, not exactly sure what the difference is, but they were basically metal "disk" like seats that were pressed into a bore that they made in the head. Second thing, do not add straight antifreeze to the rad, you must mix it first. The bubbling you are hearing is the natual sounds from the thermal siphon system these tractors used (there is no water pump). Draining is really easy since there is a plug on the bottom of the rad on the bottom. There is a hole in the front end of the casting to reach it easily. Hope this helps, Brian Toronto, Ont.
