Looks exactly like the problem I had with my 350 - only I did lose it going down the road. Went another 1/4 mile in 2 gear trying to steer with the brakes before I gave it up. I had about 4 miles to go. I had lost the key where the power steering unit hooked up to the shaft (exactly where you split yours). Never could get the coupler to "clamp down" on the Charlynn PS shaft the way it should, everything would seem tight but you could give the sterring wheel a good tug and it would pull apart at the clamp. Finally drilled a small hole through the coupler and PS shaft and ran a small bolt through it. That was about 5 years ago.
