If you used hardener, maybe a couple of days, there may be no waiting period. With no hardener, I would probably wait a couple of weeks, but I always use hardener. Some people claim that the clear coat makes the decals look as if they were painted on -- I have not tried it. If you do clear coat, and are not using a base coat - clear coat system, you need to use acrylic urethane single stage, you have the choice of clear coating or not with that type paint. I have not heard of clear coating acrylic enamel with hardener, not saying you can't.
