Doing some routine maintenance on my new to me 1256. I replaced the retainer o-ring behind the hydraulic filter and noticed that the new o-ring has a yellow mark on it. There was no old o-ring to compare againist. Is this mark supposed to be oriented in any particular direction? Also noticed that the screen in the bypass filter has begun to come out of the frame - about 25%. Is this something that could be attempted to repair or just replace? One last question, the new cover gasket has a bead (?) on it, the old gasket did not. The old gasket was seated with gasket material; does the bead on the new gasket take the place of the gasket seating material? and should I install gasket dry? The cover cleaned up good when I took the old gasket off - smmoth & flat. Any advice is appreciated.
