Info on WD9?

Need a little help with WD9 info. 1. Steering is off. Will not turn very far to the left, like the worm gear or whatever is locking up. Anyone have any problem like that and is there an adjustment or do I have to tear the steering box apart? 2. Can't find serial number. Read somewhere that it should be on the left side frame around the transmission but haven't been able to locate it. Is it a plate or will it be stamped? Any help would be appreciated. Doc
