Knauff It is true you can not flip the gear over the shaft is tappered. But you donot have to go 180 degrees the H & M came with a half gear so had to replace but if you have a full gear all you have to do is put it on so you have good teeth when you have wheels straight forward. But also as others said could be many things just have to check everthing.
