I would imagine there was a factory package on these in 1957 when the 230 was introduced as most of them did not have touch control either. In fact as I remember it was not easy to get a 230 with touch control. I think it was a dealer option rather than an IH option.

I know of one instance where a farmer traded a Super C for a 230, not realizing changes in fast hitch until after delivery of new 230. I know that one was resolved by switching hitch and hydraulics from the SC to 230 and vice versa.
