Dave: I think I heard something many years ago: "Give us your poor, your down-trodden ......" Come on up. Up here seniors don't have to choose between medication and food or rent, for the most part. Canada isn't perfect, but we cope. I still feel though that the two greatest nations on earth are both Canada and the US. For very similar reasons that most of us already know. I am just glad that I live in this area of the world and not in some of those other rag-tag countries ruled by despots. Hey, maybe we could send HMO's and Insurance providers there! Then they could really start crying. Poor babies aren't making 3 or 4 figure profit margins, poor things! By the way, our doctors here make good salaries. Not as much as they could in the States, but they are all making 6 figures which should be enough for anybody. More than I make -- wayyyyy more. I too am 100% disabled. I get a $256.00/month VA cheque!!!!! whoopee ding!
