I recently did my Super A and I was wondering the same thing. However I saw what appears to be a small raised marker cast into the bottom of the bellhousing. This was what I used and it was slightly before (as the engine rotates) the center rib on the plate you're talking about. Although I suppose it is entirely possible I've just gone and timed my tractor to a lump of grease stuck on the bellhousing. I guess I'll find out. SAm in NS
