Yes, I also saw a Louisville A once (SN above 200,000) with the later engine block (the last few A/Bs were built in the new Louisville plant in '47). If you still have access to that tractor, I would be interested in knowing what bellhousing it has. If you put an A/B and SA side by side you will notice that the starter motor sits farther down around the side of the bellhousing on the later tractors to make room for the hyd manifold (besides the obvious mount for the touch control assy). My guess is that the Louisville tractors still had the old bellhousing, but didn't know what to look for when I saw the one I mentioned earlier. Please let us know if you find anything.
