Did you polarize it with the engine off. Use a jumper and momentary go from the A terminal on the gen to the Batt term on the cutout should draw a spark. Then if it doesent charge with the engine running ground the field term on the gen. If it charges with the gen F term grounded the cutout is bad.or has a poor ground to the gen. You can run with the FIELD term grounded aslots of them are running that way. Does your generator have the third brush that is adjustable?
