OK. Since someone is on the subject, my M has an alternator and I have found that it will not work properly if it is touching the hood. Yet, when I looked at Little John's photos of his alternator it appears that the alternator housing is touching the block. Why, oh why, does the hood screw up my alternator? If it was shorting out on the hood wouldn't it also short out against the block?-- I have to run the tractor without the hood on.
