The new seals are almost never the same as the originals. Improvements in seal technology have about gotten rid of the double thick seals except in cases of extreme service. All the letter series Farmalls are like that. You have a seal about an inch thick with two leather lip seals and maybe a felt wiper in there. You get a single lip seal for the new one. Some folks like to put in two of the new seals. I've never done than, only installing one of the new ones and have never had a problem. As long as the new seal fits the holder with the correct press fit and is the right diameter for the shaft you will be fine. Position the new seal in the holder so that it runs on a good part of the shaft where there are no grooves worn. You should be fine with what NAPA gave you.
