All Case-IH dealers are independent businessmen...and as such, they can (mis)manage their business as they see fit. My experience in the parts business (nearly 40 years) has taught me that, if you can keep the customer happy with the level of service you provide on the OLDER equipment, there's a very good chance you'll win his business when he's ready to buy NEW equipment. Unfortunately, not all businesses think that way...to their own detriment. Today's NEW equipment is TOMORROW'S old relic...it's ALWAYS been that way. Ford Motor Company, for example, will sell you NEW fenders for your '55-'57 T-bird or '64-'66 Mustang, because of customer demand, but a lot of dealers will STILL tell you that they don't make 'em anymore....so don't EVER just take anyone's claim that "you can't get it anymore" at face value, without doing a little research elsewhere.
