I think you are describing hydraulic outlets for implements to be hooked up to the L and R sides of the tractor. I believe that is what the valve levers you describe would operate. My 240 has those levers (not working) and those two outlets on a hydraulic pump under/near the fuel tank, but my loader is powered by a separate pump in front of the grill and there are two other control levers for it on a box bolted outboard of the 3 levers next to the dashboard. I am not an expert, however.
