Farmall M: How much is too much?

I have a co-teacher/friend that is wanting to buy an old Farmall to restore. We are going to look at an M tomorrow. The gentelman is asking $800.00 for it. My friend has already seen it once but doesn't know year, ect. It has set outside since 1992. The exhaust has been covered and it has antifreeze in it. IT has a mounted 2 row corn picker; we believe that is what has protected it over the years. All tires have good tread, but on rear is flat, maybe dry-rotted. It was running in '92, but of course the gas has gone bad and gummed up the carb. Does this sound like an $800 tractor? One last question, how much bigger/heavier is an M that an H? Thanks.
