Anyway in the crankcase I've run 15W40 year round in my Farmalls for many years. If yours has high compression pistons and has stock 6 volt electrics you might switch to 5W30 in winter to ease starting - but it probably isn't necessary.

I have 80W-90 in the transmissions - it works fine throughout the temperature range here.
