Yup - - exhaust whistles (not to be confused with steam whistles) were available years ago. Used to show up on tractors that replaced steamers, but lacked any kind of warning device. Watch E-bay. They show up frequently for $60 or so. They're not nearly as loud as a steam engine's whistle, but better than yelling over your tractor. Exhaust pressure is irratic in internal combustion engines, so whistle noise has a beat to it at the same frequencey as your engine firing. Different sizes were made for different engines. Operated by pulling a cord, which closed a by-pass valve and diverted the exaust to the whistle. Whistles were made up of 3-5 pipes, making 3-5 note cords. Have fun.........
