Was it just rings? Did you hone or bore... then "Mic" the cylinder? The rings may not be the correct over-size. Was it black or blue smoke, maybe your carb is runnin' way rich,(if it's black)? In any case it will take a bit of time (20 hour+) to get "run-in". Best of luck keep those old girls going.

I bought a cub last night on the way home from my weekly farmers market, took me a year to catch the old boy in, She was seized and forgoten. That will make four. I use them for different families of vegetables and one with a belly mower for pasture clipping.
