I'll list several links to older threads on this list that may be educational along these lines, copy and paste them into the URL addr window on your browser (they are each two lines in this window but need to be put back together as one line when you paste them): http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=farmall&th=442561 http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=farmall&th=447051 http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=farmall&th=350669 The bore (of the pistons) in your existing motor could be any of 3", 3-1/8" or 3-1/4" depending on whether it is still stock or which sleeve kit was used in a previous overhaul. The most commonly available aftermarket piston and sleeve kit today will be the 3-1/4 overbore kit. If you are willing to pay dealer prices, the options may go up. The Sleeve OD (Outside Diameter) that I referred to is measured across the outside of the bottom of the sleeve about and inch or two up from the bottom where the rubber O-ring actually makes it's seal. I believe it will be 3-7/16" (~3.44")vs 3-5/16" (~3.31") of the earlier (and later X30/X40) blocks. Hope some of that helps, Stan(VA).

Since this can be extremely difficult, you may want to fabricate the item or purchase a modern replacement temporarily, but eventually, you s
