narrow vs wide front end

Well I was reminded today that a narrow front end on a Farmall isn't very good for wet clay (gumbo) soils. My tricycle front end H is in the garage being worked on so I didn't have to try it in the mud. My little off-brand 4 wheel drive worked well and I thought back to the times I had tried using a tricyle gear tractor in sticky mud. Not my most favorite memory of my Farmall experience. Still love my '48 H with tricycle front end, it is just like the one I drove way back when. Just glad I had a wide front end for today's mud.
