The single mark is the first one you see on the pulley
while rotating the crankshaft; it indicates the limit of
timing advance when the engine is running. (timing
advance means the spark occurs earlier hence the
mark is placed on the pully BEFORE TOP DEAD
CENTER)
The next set of marks are the actual TDC (top dead
center) marks. There are 2 marks about 1/8 " apart that
locate where the mag or distributor should fire when
cranking the engine.
