Well im not real sure why some manufacturers set certain engines at certain speeds other than delivering the most torque at that speed for a certain application.Seems to me if the same engine could be used in something else at higher rpms why cant a different engine be turned up the same way.Guess they set them there to keep us from riping out the trans or something,like I said earlier Ive seen guys turn up the rpms on there H of M and tear up gears.I know my I-4 has a higher rpm rating on the serial no. plate than a H and those are the same engine.
