Couple additinal notes, the slot in the backing plate for the pulley is small enough it pulls against the thick part of the hub not the flange of the pulley. The flange WILL break if you pull on it. That particular engine was laying in the floor of a storage shed, so I couldn't get the pump on the lower side of the jack, and only had aobut 1/2 travel on the ram, but it was enough. Also for the center bolt for the jack to push against the crankshaft be sure to use a grade 5 or harder to prevent bending the bolt. To reinstall the pulley, coat shaft with antisieze and get a piece of threaded rod (1/2 x 13). Screw the rod into the center hole in the crank and use some spacers or washers to get the nut outside the pulley and pull it back on. Do NOT drive on it, you may damge the thrust shoulders on the center main bearing.
