When I converted my 300U to twelve volt It actually cranked too fast. In the winter it would flood before starting. I know it doesn't seem like it should but it did. I learned to shut my fuel off when I was done with it and start it with the fuel off and just what gas was available. Be real quick with the choke too. Other than that it is prone to drawing moisture but only when rainy never in the winter.
