During the years of manufacture of the 140, it went from 6 volt generator, 12 volt generator, to 12 volt alternator. Mounting the alternator is not especially difficult on the the 140, but I have seen some conversions with poor pulley alignment and wobbly alternators. I priced the alternator mount for the 140 at the dealer. At that time it was $114.00!! Unreal!!
