Mitch: In my lifetime I've owned 16 Farmalls ranging in size from Super A to a 1066. In that group was at least one tractor from every series; letter to 66. 350 was part of that evolution. I never had one, but did have a 300, still going and it probably has 25,000 hours on it by now. I know it is on it's 6th set of pistons and sleeves. Of my 16 tractors the only one I can honestly say didn't measure up was Farmall 504 gas. Why IH ever changed and went to non sleeved gas engines, is one I will scratch my head over until I die. I think IH thought by the early 1960's gas tractors were over in the 30+ hp sizes, thus they didn't spend a lot on R&D. I really can't understand that one myself either, I certainly wouldn't have purchased a new gasser by then. My 504 came with a farm I bought. That would be my thinking on Farmalls, after the 350 and 450 go diesel.
