Does a 1086 count as a Farmall? Seeing as how Farmall was the name for IH row-crops, I'll say it does and call the 1086 my favorite Farmall. They finally got a decent cab, and although the rest of the tractor wasn't much advanced from the 1066, the cab made up for it. The position of some of the controls leaves a lot to be desired, but they're still a pretty decent cab. Good engines and a good stout drivetrain for the most part. Nothing against the "M", because an "M" Farmall was the first tractor I ever drove, they sold a bunch of them and they were good, but I don't think it was the best tractor of it's day. Certainly one of the most popular and good in a lot of categories, but not the best in any. For instance, Deeres had better hyraulics at the time and in later years of the "M" production had a better operator's station when the battery-box seat came out. That's one area where IH should have done some work long before they did - their seats. A lot of the other makers were installing backrests and armrests and IH still had the old coil-spring pan sitting there. My list of favorite Farmalls would have to go 1086, M, H, and then possibly the 766.

I was also embarking on planting 1000 eucalyptus trees, and hence I would need a ripper, small disk plow, sprayer etc. to get these things accompli
