Hi Ian, place the cylinder 2 on tdc and you can see a punch mark on crankshaft gear. It have 2 punch marks on one gear of the balencer housing for timing with the crankshaft gear. Normally when the 2 piston is on top, you put the housing in place ( counter weights in down position) and it,s ok. Don't start engine with out timing of the balencer or the housing will be broken by shaking. Also, put new O rings for the lube. Check the lube pressure after the job, if it low, may be the cam bushings have to much clearance. The low lube pressure will worn the balencer.
